Witcher 3 Gwent Banner

During the Prologue you are introduced to a card game called Gwent. To play Gwent you will need to collect cards to build up your deck, but you have more than one deck you can choose to play with. On top of the decks there are also some neutral cards that can be added to any deck you choose to play with.

There are four decks in the main game and a fifth you can unlock if you get the Blood and Wine DLC. You can also get some alternate versions of a few cards when you have the Hearts of Stone DLC.

The guide below lists all the cards you can find for the each deck, and how to collect them. You will also find some information about any abilities that each card may have. Hero cards are not affected by any card’s abillities.

Northern Realm
Nilfgaard
Scoia'tael
Monsters
Skellige

Neutral Cards

Impenetrable Fog

You will also start with two of these cards as part of your base deck at the beginning of the game. You can agin a third at random, by playing other Gwent players and defeating them. When this card is played it will set the strength of all ranged cards to 1, for both players.

Geralt of Rivia

Geralt’s unique hero card can be won by defeating Thaler in a game of Gwent. You can play Thaler after finishing the “A Deadly Plot” quest, but if you don’t play him straight away you will need to go to the the Seven Cats Inn in Gustfields, Novigrad, to find him.

Cirilla Fiona Elen Rianno

The unique Ciri card can only be won from the Scoia’Tael Trader, who can be found in the camp in the Novigrad Forest. You will encounter this trader during the Big City Players quest.

Yennefer of Vengerberg

As part of the “Playing Innkeeps” quest you will need to find Stjepan at The Alchemy Inn, in Oxenfurt, Novigrad. Defeat Stjepan and you can win this hero card.
